Take a scene from 3ds Max to houdini

is there any ways that I can take a scene from 3Ds Max and bring it into houdini? it would really help me out because now I need to create some explosions and it'd really be a lot easier to do in houdini than in max. thanks!

FBX seems to be the preferred method.

In max you export your asset as a FBX , then in Houdini import that fbx file.
