Not sure about anything else (component wise), but I would strongly urge you to go with an NVidia video card.

i know some programs goes with Nvidia Physics.
but not sure if that do a difference on the 3d program itself that why i wanted to get a little more info on that matter.

also here in Mexico the price of electronics is at least 30% to 40% more .

For the record, I'm strictly considering Drivers and stability.

if you search the forums for “Radeon” you'll quickly get a sense of the issues.

the intel i7s are spanking current processors in every benchmark. i myself have a quad core intel q660 processor which can be had in a mobo combo pretty cheap now and it does a great job. make sure you use 64 bit OS too

you'll want more RAM. seriously.

2GB is nowhere near sufficient these days – I would consider 8 to be bare minimum for a production machine.

If cost is an issue, downgrade the video card to an older generation card, and get a smaller HD.

i will add more ram later on, when the price gets lower, i could ask to send me parts to laredo and go pick them up, or ask some one to do it, but after the travel the cost will be the same or more, plus the warrantys issues. that you need to be were you buy it and all that stuff. but yea keyframe i will defently add more RAM since i am planning to do some simulations stuff with houdini, and keep learning

Take Keyframe's word for it…he's not casually suggesting you might want more RAM later - you *need* more just to get started. And simming? That's another completely different ballpark. Just to use Houdini in something approximating production, you'll want 8G(although I'm finding 12G is more comfortable with each passing day). If you want to do any serious simming, 12G is an absolute minimum.

I understand that circumstances and/or money can drive things, but really, seriously, you *need* more than 2G. You'll just get frustrated and you won't be able to get anything done. It's just a reality of the software demands.

Cheers,
