hey everyone look I'm new to this whole houdini thing and I was wondering if there was a way to render with the aqsis renderer with houdini 6.1 at home I have apprentice. But I want to use it on a licensed version at work (version 6.0) just wondering if any body uses this renderer and can give me some information. I am really interested in learning and using renderman and houdini, but since PRman is out of the price range I am looking for a free solution. Thanx.

The apprentice version only supports output to Mantra. You will have to use 6.0 at work then to output to Aqsis. In 6.0, look in the docs for how to use renderman. At worst, you might have to output all your RIBs and then use those to render with Aqsis via command line.

With Houdini Apprentice you can't render with the RMan ROP, nor export script files (RIB, in this case) either… Or am I mistaking myself here?
