Hi All,
I am having issues viewing Alembic cache files I have written to disk. In the Alembic read node I can see the path details and the file has a good size on disk. I just cannot see any geometry in the viewport , Has anyone else come across something similar ? .

I don't know what's better way and solutions for now.

Also we have an example project in the Houdini Help about this.
Of course I think in this example we use RigidBodySolver for self collision of the particles , So each particle simulating as different RBD object and I think it's not very fast !!!
Maybe it's good only for learning Wink

try this. on the selection tab (alembic sop) browse the object path, and on the import tab set the ‘load as’ param to load houdini geometry.

Well one thing is for sure there is a major bug happening. In the make selection panel there is no hierarchy to pick from, yet the Alembic rop is writing out the data. Right now I just do not know the steps to break it again and again. Whats super odd is if I create a new Alembic ROP , its still broken. Very Annoying

Here is a simple file showing the issue with a .abc file . For some reason I cannot attach a straight .abc file ?.
I also note that you might be writing out an .abc file with 16 poly soups , but using the alembic read node you only ever get 1 poly soup group back in when its set to load Houdini geometry.
