Hi..
questions:
- can Houdini bake the AO of a mesh to a texture?
- can Houdini transfer textures from 1 mesh to an other with different UVs (into 1 new texture file)?
any input welcome!

You can make a shader that does it…and put that in a digital asset etc if you want to make it easy to use..
I started making one here, there are scerenshots and a example file.. but my vector math for normals are not that strong, but the AO worked perfectly.

Not that bakes from object to object but the Mantra ROP has a UV Render Object..which basically means it can bake down things to it self, and that is why you now make a shader on that object that scopes the other object so you can transfer that information to the object you put in UV Render Object on the ROP.

Hey ..
I see you started a new thread on your solution:

that's the baking tool you talked about, right?
