Houdini Apprentice Sim and render on Google Cloud Instance. Works pretty awesome, testing on slow machines for now. If it turns out to be feasible, I plan to use this as my render and simulation farm for Houdini Indie. A single instance machine boots at 200mb ram installed xfce for VNC, but its not needed. So İ would like to ask to sidefx if the licensing would cause any issues on virtual machines, single apprentice seems to work fine.

thanks for that information, and further reading in the agreement says “no relocation of the trial license” This is not very clear to me if I should keep testing it on the cloud, as the license has not been relocated ever and was created on the cloud machine at the first place ? SideFx any info on that ?

what VM machine OS did you setup to run it.

I tried this tonight and used a windows 2012 server and installed the app but it wont launch due to open GL 3.3 requirements??

test was done on debian linux, with no GUI. these additional nodes are for computation only and you do not need to run houdini with UI, thats why you get the openGL error, what you need is to run the nodes via hbatch command from terminal(CLI)
