I've never used Houdini before. I've been watching tons of basic tutorials. Now that I can operate the software to a reasonable degree, I am ready to start emitting a soft-body tubular substance. I am trying to squeeze toothpaste out of a tube. I cannot seem to find the right tutorial to get me started. If someone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate at it.

For some background; I've used other software packages professionally like Maya, Max, Zbrush, and Unity for some time now. So I am not a complete noob–only to Houdini. I understand how most dynamic effects work in various packages. I just need help setting up a “soft-body emitter” for lack of a better phrase.

Anything will help.

for toothpaste you could use flip with viscosity for example.

Think about what the biggest issue is and start with small tests. whos to say that the toothpaste shpe cannot already be formed in the tube.
