Any assets browser / image browser in Houdini?

I'm trying to bring in some image references that i'd like to keep opened in a panel in my Houdini interface config. Is that doable. The “asset browser” seems only meant for otls and alike. Any “windows explorer” type of shelf i can use for images?

I guess Irfanview with “always on top” will do for now.
