So these 2 DOPs seem to do the same thing and I've scene smoke sims set up using both.
Are they 100% interchangeable or is there some reason, performance or otherwise you would choose one over the other?

DOP IO has DOP import fields inside, so it is just a wrapper with some extra features, like caching
