Hello,

I'm trying to find out how I can change the colors in the viewport for the camera mask ( as described here, https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/render/cameras.html [www.sidefx.com] ). Right now when I add the overlay mask it's white…

I also found this old post https://forums.odforce.net/topic/20413-can-the-viewport-display-mask-color-be-changed/ [forums.odforce.net]
but that didn't work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Anyhow, any takers?

regards
stefan

To make this more strange, at home with apprentice it works fine and the mask overlay is black (MacOS). But at work where we have Centos and Gnome3 it's white…

any takers on this?

If you have a null visible, the color changes. Also the color depends on background color.

The method described in the odforce thread is still valid. Copy the 3DSceneColors files from your Houdini install to the config folder of your Houdini home directory. Modify the ViewMaskOverlayColor line. 3DSceneColors.bw, 3DSceneColors.dark, and 3DSceneColors.light correspond to the Grey, Dark, and Light options respectively under Viewport Display Options > Background > Color Scheme.

This doesn't work under linux (CentOS, Gnome3), it's white… I can see it picks up the files though since I tested with making the grid green or red.

Ah I see. It would be good to submit a bug-report in that case.
