Hi everybody,

I'm quite new to Houdini and I'm still figuring out the kinks. We use Houdini a lot in our studio and PDG is part of our rendering pipeline, so I'm hoping I post this question in the right place.

We currently have an issue regarding Houdini licenses and Redshift. We currently want to render our rs files on multiple machines, but we get an error stating that we don't have enough Houdini licenses (We're using Houdini Engine licenses for this).

I'm quite confused as to why we require a Houdini license to render an RS file? Is there any way we can circumvent this, where the only licenses we would need on our farm are redshift licenses? Can this be done Via PDG?

If you use houdini/hython/hbatch to create the RS files, then yes you need a houdini(engine) license. An engine license shouldn't be required to consume the rs file with redshift though. Is that what you're seeing?
