as I can currently see, only paths can be edited in houtputprocessors (for the ROP USD Outputnode).
Will you add features in future, the we will be able to modify the stage that will be saved?

For example if maybe some of the larger mesh data should be saved as separate payload and should be extracted from the file to save (and replaced by references to that newly saved payload).

Or is in this case another approach more useful?

I would think a LOP node would make a lot more sense for making modifications to the stage…
