Filling Bowl with Spheres

Newbie starting out would appreciate if someone can take a look at this simple scene.
1) Why is the bowl blue?
2) How can I kill the emission of spheres, say at frame 100?
Is the scene composed properly?

- Colliders are displayed blue
- switch every 8th frame to emit a sphere…otherwise a null, AND only if $F<100
- no point weighing down your sim with high res spheres, freq 3 will do.
