Hello.

I'm new to Houdini I'm coming from max. I know Houdini has a different filosofy for modelling but I'm finding some limitations to do some basic modelling based on curves.

For example, the curve editing system is very restrictive and is very hard to insert new points after some edit is done.
The curve creation node should allow to transform multiple points aswell as the edit node should allow to refine a existing cruve.

Also I'm missing handles when bezier curve is created and many options to work with those handles.

My question is: Is it planned to improve this tools and make a more industry standard accessible curves toolkit in the near future?

Thanks!

This is a long-standing request. I don't think SideFX has ever indicated they plan on making any improvements. I agree the curve tools are pretty useless. This guy is working on a curve editor which seems promising: https://www.sidefx.com/forum/topic/75479/?page=1#post-330068 [www.sidefx.com]

You can submit an RFE to show further user need. The steps are in the sticky top post in this forum.

No, I've been waiting for years. But I don't think SideFX has the ability to make a user-friendly curve toolset.
SideFX is great at making things that look cool, but lacking basic tools.

Well, finally it seems we have a better curve tool. Good for you SideFX!
