Where the name "wrangle" comes from?

Given that large portion of names in Houdini and especially in VEX (bindings, intrinsics...) have equivalents in low level programming I was wondering about the origins of the wrangle nodes.

"...to herd and care for..."

I remember Jeff Wagner talking about that once - basically paraphrasing that the name came from the idea that you are 'wrestling' 'massaging' points, geometry, data, etc. in a wrangle node; hence it's name.

fair enough, there is "data wrangling" as well, but I guess then that's from a different herd

wrangle also means: round up cattle/horses

I heard it's only a wrangle if it comes from the Wranglé region of France. Otherwise, it's just sparkling code.
