I was wondering if there's a way to have the "properties" window not set per object as it is by default. I checked the preferences, but could not find anything.
For instance; when I have the "Render" properties open on a selected object, and then select another object, it switches to "Transform" if that was the previous one used on that object.
What I would prefer is to keep the current properties open when I select another object, no matter what the previous setting was.
So basically I'd like to disable Houdini remembering what properties window was used for every object, but keep the current one active unless I change it.
Thanks,
R.

Hi, not sure if this is what you want but you can toggle the "Follow-selection" button. (see screenshot)
Thanks, tried that. But that locks the properties window completely, no matter what you select next.
What I'd like is the "Render" panel to stay open, but still follow the selection.
Imagine you want to edit the "Render" settings of several objects on which you had the "Transform" panel open before.
Currently you have to manually switch to the "Render" settings every single time you select a different object before you can edit the "Render" settings. This becomes tedious very quickly.
It would be much easier if the "Render" panel would stay active all the time, unless I manually switch to "Transform" for instance.

toonafishyou can select all of those nodes, click on Render tab

then when you select one by one they all will be already on Render tab

That's what I sometimes do, but that's hardly a useable workaround for simply having the panel stay open on the current settings.
Who wants to first figure what objects you need to edit, select them when the nodes are all over the place, toggle the settings, and then start editing.
Rinse and repeat...
