Advect Explosion via Vel Field

Hi,

I'm trying to retime a pyro sim with combustion and auto resize box. Yeah fun.

So I was reading that I can use a low res velocity field as a pump and advect my sim with that. I think?
When I try to use the velocity field as a pump via the shelf tools i get an error saying "Not enough volumes specified for SOP_Pump_Volume?

I have attached my hip file…I have a velocity field in the import_pyro_build_lo geo.

I'm also playing the gas upres for retiming..just want to see what gives the best results.

If you are just going to re-time, why not use Time Blend SOP and Time Shift SOP? Sure, your volume is changing size - but if you get its maximum size, create a new volume that big, and copy your data into that new field(s); the Time Blend/Time Shift should work just fine.

Hi there,

uhm I tried that the timeblend/timeshift but in the render there is no fire?
Would you be able to post a sample hip the demonstrates how to do this? I don't know how to copy the fields to be retimed.
Edit : or maybe u can advise me on how to copy the fields and I can give it a go? Thanks for your help
