We noticed that launching pilotpdg from a local machine on Linux (CentOS 7) takes about ~9s, but houdinifx takes half that, 4-5s.
Is there anything that can be done to improve the launching speed of pilotpdg? Would love to see it startup as close to instantly as possible, but it's a bit strange to see it slower to launch than houdinifx.

Thanks for notifying us. We're noticing similar behaviour on windows as well. I've added an RFE (95976) to track this.
