I'm working with a logo object fractured with RBD Material Fracture and I want to add embossed/raised text onto one specific shard.
So far I've isolated the piece and subdivided the primitives in the area where I'd like the text to appear. My initial plan was to drive the embossing through a texture map, essentially using a height/displacement map with the text baked in to get the raised look.
For the workflow I was imagining something like: isolate the piece → subdivide → bring it into COPs to either build the text layer there or load it from a file → apply displacement back on the geometry via COPs. Does that approach make sense, or is there a better way to do this?
The part I'm most unsure about is positioning: how do I reliably place the text where I want it on the glass shard, so it lines up where I need it?
Any pointers appreciated! Thanks!
Here is a reference for the raised text effect.
