If you want to use meshes, like in this example, than you need to model it. Or you can use NURBS and try Surfsect SOP.

Thanks. But how to get a SubNet node to expose the parameters?
I am not sure what exactly you need. You can use digital assets which is more powerful than ICE compound. Also you can save that node in Gallery and reuse if you need it? Can you explain little bit better what issues you have?

It is strange that FX works but Indie not. There are no such difference between these two that could trigger such behaviour… Ask SESI support.

Do not use H13, that will not work on latest Apple OSX for sure. Not sure why you have H14 and H15 problems though. I would recommend dual boot with Linux, Ubuntu maybe and see what performances and stability you have there.

In Linux you will have better performances than on Mac. Well at least I had it on my MBP with NVIDIA card.

Looking at that video, you can transfer color to points? I could not understand what you are talking about UVs, can you give more details?

I don't care about 4k. some time i want to be able to render 3000*256.
Of course i can hack and render with multiple camera, and compose it but it is not the point.
Than you buy full version. If you do not have money for that than find cheaper alternative, there are some great open source alternatives.

Just use Mantra Surface material and apply textures where you need them, by checking Use Map property.

Of course that is recognized, but you all need to realize that Houdini was never really viewport oriented app. 95% of stuff in Houdini was done through Network view, totally different concept tan any other app out there. It is changing but slowly. We all realize what are you talking, I am sure devs also, but resources are limited I guess.
And in McNistor case if he invested half time into adapting to Houdini way of doing things and not into making Houdini XSI and letting us know every single difference he encountered
