Karma Light Blocker setup with primitive 2026年8月5日8:53

Hi,

I am not sure if I understand you correctly.

In your setup the blocker is set not to receive shadow from light2 and it's not.
If you mean the faint visible trace of the blocker on `cube1` as can be seen in your second snapshot (highlighted with red box),
then this is due to diffuse interreflection of the blocker itself. You can either set diffuse bounce to zero on the render settings
or set '-diffuse` (along with your `-primary`) in Render Geometry Settings > Render Visibility.

There is also a new Karma Blcker Light Filter [www.sidefx.com]
for this purpose. I have attached a modified version of your scene for the use case.

Please let me know if this didn't answer your question. Thanks.

Thanks a lot. You have solved my problem. I am new to Houdini, and I was recreating an Arnold scene from Maya that has many light blocker filters, which are not available with H21. I guess with H22 I can use an inbuilt node.

Hi,

It's hard for me to say what the problem is from the description/snapshots.
Would you be able to share a hip file or log a bug please? Thanks a lot!

Yeah, here is the hip file, please contact if you need additional help.

Karma Light Blocker setup with primitive 2026年7月25日4:06

I am trying to use a primitive as a light blocker in Karma, but the problem I am facing when I add another light to the scene, I am facing some occlusion with the 2nd light.

I am using a combination of render geometry and a light linking node for my setup.

Can anybody help me with this?

This is the primitive I am trying to use a blocker
