New to Houdini. Need Help Oct. 29, 2015, 6:20 p.m.

CGSociety have the best destruction tutorial for Houdini. I wouldn't even touch anything else.

You have to remember that H14 and H15 changed a lot, so all (like 98%) of the tutorials out there will not cover those changes and you may have problem with following them if you are not experienced with Houdini.

I'm in the same situation but in the other hand I learn the basics of Houdini, the procedural modeling, etc.

I'm migrate from Maya and now the intention is to specialize in FX only like RBD, Flip; Pyro, grain, etc.

My Houdini version is 15, not recomend this version now? More more changes respect de Houdini 14?

Many thanks

Particles Tutorials??? Sept. 5, 2015, 5:27 a.m.

Hello everyone,

I decided to start my adventure with Houdini FX.
After seeing the basic tutorials to move and understand the procedural operation of Houdini, I decided to start my learning so would the particles and start playing the VOPs ..

For this I'm looking for the best tutorials on such online courses or whatever.

I found 2 classes and a masterclass at the Sidefx side and other two in Rohan Dalvi Vimeo.

They would know me more tutorials and online courses to help me in my learning in this part?

In order to be the new version of Houdini or 13, and I read that there are changes of 12 to 13.

greetings and thanks!

Go to specialist in FX - Fluids and Dynamics Sept. 5, 2014, 8:07 a.m.

Hi all, after days of tinkering general way all aspects of production, creating dynamic small fire and smoke, odd animation, and other aspects of CGI, I've realized that I love the part of FX, especially fluids.

So I have a question quite large and since I've noticed really soon, I want to ask you some questions:

1 If I want to dedicate myself to be a specialist in fluid VFX ARTIST, where I have to start ?. I thought about starting with Houdini and dominate the whole issue of particle dynamics and, as is claimed more about FX with Maya.

On the other hand, I commented, not whether it is true that Real Flow is the elite for simulations of fluids and not sure if I have to also get involved with the ..
I know it's very intense and so I'll have to spend many hours a day, thankfully I have and I am where I start motivado..pero ?.
I get filled with Houdini and Real Flow ?.
I have to learn Maya?

2 Once the basics of the programs can learn and do more or less interesting, as the 1st reel of FX specialized arises? Simply simulation with different visions and the final render? No matter the level of detail of the models, etc?

P.D: I have a general domain with LW.

A greeting.
