i'm trying to model a light brite Oct. 7, 2010, 3:42 p.m.
so, i think i figured out how to get it glow the way i want. i just turned on diffuse and emission options for the default glass. but i tried to render out one frame and it took 1.5 hrs and only got half way.
is it normal to take that long for a frame to render? and is there a better way to get this done/should i be doing anything different? this is my very first project doing 3d stuff so i'm figuring this out as i go.
i tried to upload my project file but it's too big for the forum attachment.

and i just can't get the material the way i want.
what i have set up so far is a plane with holes in it and i've modeled a peg out of a polygonal cylinder. i want to be able to have a light underneath the plane that will make the pegs glow when i turn it on.
any help is appreciated even if you can just point me in the right direction for a tutorial.

how to use linear() as expression Sept. 22, 2010, 10:58 a.m.
i don't think that's what i want then.
basically i want to animate something from y=5 to y=0 over a specific time like 5 frames using an expression that i can use in an if() expression. i have a lot of objects that i don't want to manually keyframe and i want to create a cascading effect where they fall in place. if you could point me in the right direction that would be great.
