Using Subsurface Scattering in the Mantra Surface Shader Sept. 22, 2016, 5:29 p.m.
Hello! I'm a student currently learning to light, shade and texture in Houdini 15. Right now for a project, I have to shade and texture a tooth (a wet molar to be exact), and my teacher has made a specific request that I use subsurface scattering in my shader.
I've looked as much as I can on subsurface scattering, and I'm having great difficulty achieving the look I need for the tooth. Towards the tips of the tooth, I'm trying to get the appearance of light thinly going through but my attempts remain solid looking. Can anyone offer any advice?
Thank you for your time!
