I had the same issue, and it looks for my case that when in very begining in RigDoctor SOP turned on the Re-Orient to Cild, the Mirror By Default is working. Though I have done just 1 test sample

I have a quaestion about APEX aniamtion and bone selection

How to select subtree (all the childrens)of the selected bone in sceneanimate node. The only way to select all childrens is from Rig Tree menu, but in scene animate we dont have information about bones
