Spaceship Landing March 13, 2024, 8:34 a.m.

Hey everyone! This is a little breakdown of a project I did a few months ago. It consists of a terrain affected by a pyro sim of a landing spaceship.

For the pyro sim I ran a pop sim to get the points colliding with the ground, those points were the source for the pyro using the velocities generated by the points to run the sim.

For the wheat field, I applied a wireframe solver. The first step was to convert the original geo of thw wheat into wires by scattering points and connecting them, then I scatter multiple instances of those wires on the terrain and run a wireframe sim using the previous pyro sim to advect the wires. For a more realistic result I also added a layer of debris created by popnet avected by the pyro sim and instanced small wheat debris at each point.

I also created the entire environment, shading, lighting and compositing.
