Exporting Particle Effects April 23, 2015, 10:59 p.m.
Hi,
I understand that Houdini is quite good at creating convincing particle effects. Now, I'm not rich - just a hobbyist - but I think I can afford the Indie licence if Houdini can satisfy my needs.
I'm an avid user of DAZ Studio which is where I like to create my scenes and to render still shots of them (no animation). But the only thing I'm missing is some special effects. I was wondering if it's possible to export a particle effect from Houdini into DAZ Studio and to render it there? To put it another way, is it possible, for example, to convert a Houdini particle effect into a .OBJ mesh (along with the UV mapping, and the shading (diffuse, specular, opacity, normal maps, etc.)) and bring it into DAZ Studio?
Thanks.
