HEIGHTFIELDS FOR TEXTURE DESIGN?
This is less tutorial and more sharing an experiment with you. Can we use Heightfields and Compositing Operators to generate texture maps? The answer is an awesome yes! This is a very simple tutorial but I will label it as intermediate because it uses Surface Operators, HFs, and Compositing Operators. The file created will output Color, Displacement, Normal, and Rough Maps. Also please note I used an Houdini Digital Asset from a previous tutorial, "Making a Dart."
