Learn how to create animated ripple effects in Houdini’s Copernicus, exploring simple controls to adjust how waves spread, move, and fade over time.

You’ll also explore raindrop-driven ripples, interactions with obstacles, and effects that travel across 3D surfaces. This workflow gives artists a practical starting point for creating water-inspired motion and experimenting with expressive surface effects.

In the initial set up of File > Ripple Block > monoheightfield.... when using images other than houdini default files the ripple works fine but when plugged into the monotoheightfield node The ripples get converted into detail that goes up off the plane, perpendicular too it, instead of laterally across the plane.

Have tried many different file formats... rat, png, tiff, jpg...all the same odd result.

I would be handy to report it to support@sidefx.com that way we can check the bug.
It is highly recommended to add your Houdini version, OS, share the description of the problem and a file we can look at.
      Thank you!
