The monster is created using mostly procedural methods, and you will find out step by step how you can shape Houdini's built-in test geometry, "Tommy", into a highly detailed mind flayer. 


The creature is rigged and animated using KineFX, and secondary animation is generated using a Vellum simulation.


Finally, learn how to rig and simulate the mall environment. You'll see how we set up constraints to destroy the glass and concrete ceiling in a realistic manner, adding dust, small debris, more Vellum effects and flickering lights to turn the shot into a visually enticing action scene.
