The pdg.AttributePattern matcher's contructor now has an optional "strict" argument. When strict is True, the pattern matcher can only parse attribute names that consist of alphanumeric and underscore characters. When strict is false all characters except for whitespace, '*', and '^' are permitted in attribute names. The strict argument defaults to True for backward compatibility.
