why can't zoom in to very small objects? [SOLVED]

sometimes if the dimension of a group of points is too small (0.001 x 0.001 x 0.001) I can't zoom in to have a closer look in the scene view.

Is there a minimum view fore clip distance for the scene view interface?

There is, you can set it in the Display Options, Optimization > Culling tab. The near plane generally set to 0.1. If you change it to a very small number (0.001), be aware that this will affect the depth precision of far away objects.

I totally agree! I guess that's the joy a good software will offer you!

It seems houdini is a very flexible platform that can provide a variety of solutions to the same task.
