Hi,
is there any chance to show the values of a VOP output and if at all without leaving the VOP network (textport, OTL?)
Thanks in advance.

I normally just put up the spreadsheet of my vop sop node next to my Houdini and then pipe the node whose values I want to see into an add attribute node inside the vop sop. The spreadsheet should automatically update when you change the nodes inside the vop sop and you can see if the values coming out are what you expect.

Plug it into a print node and toggle on Output Text to Console, this will spit out every sample to the shell (assuming you opened houdini from a shell). you can type in the Format String field to format this any way you'd like, just use % to call each consecutive input.
The other option that works nicely in 12.5 geometry is to have Details view open and write out to an attribute. This won't work for shading though.
