I have a big problem.
I just bough a i5 config to run houdini.
i5 4440
asus z87 A
internal gfx card ( intelHD 4600)

windows 7 64 bit

I run houdini, create a primitive and try to render it : MAntra crash.

exit code -1073741795

UT-netpacket::read: no such file or directory.


I don't what to do !!!

Help !!!

I retried a render and mantra gave me this message

are you on a laptop?
it seems so from your internal gfx card

i am not sure if houdini plays well with laptop

no desktop man.
but since i would like a computer only to render, i though the internal gfx chipset of the mobo was enough …

I will try with my old nvidia when I will get some time ..

I´m also interested in this, because this is an error that has appeared intermitently in some of my students projects

about the laptop desktop thing :
I installed on my laptop ( Intel I3 + radeon HD5470) several version of Houdini with success.

On this new computer, Houdini crash when I try to open old scene and MAntra crash when I try to render anything …
I didn't try command line render yet.

Make sure you have Windows 7 SP1 and all security updates installed.

I installed the SP1 and all the security things and ….

Maybe can you give me an answer about another Houdini ‘s behavior :

I created a network driver ( Z where I attend to load scene file from.
When I clic Open on Houdini and browse to this driver, houdini dialog window show me all the Hip file gray shaded ( and of course unselectable).
But if i write a hip filename on dedicated place, houdini opens the hip.

It’s … strange to me.
