In H13 plastic deformation in the cloth solver (now FEM solver) is no longer available. So I have to use H12.5 or is there another workflow in H13 which I'm missing?

Thanks

There's a lot you can do with the “rest” attribute. You can change it during the sim with a SOP solver to get plastic-deformation type of effects. I've attached a very simple example, where I'm lerping the rest positions toward the current positions in a SOP solver.

Hi Michiel,

thanks for your hip. It seems that it has a lot to do with deep coding into the DOP's. But I will give it a try.

The plasticity implementation in the old cloth solver was a lot nicer. Why has SideFX not implemented this functionality in the new FEM solver, or, left in the old cloth solver in H 13.?

I liked implementation of plasticity in the old cloth solver too. In the recent technical discussion there was a nice example of a guardrail deformation by an intern (John I think) but it hasn't been posted.
Good luck, Kevin
