It's great, free, very stable, quite capable, amazing support from Peter Shipkov. Unfortunately its in maya.
The fundamental problem is fitting a Houdini mindset onto Maya's dependency graph, it's not a comfortable match. Soup to soup node connections aren't too bad, but going from maya native nodes, to soup, and back again, is fiddly and unintuitive. Shipkov has done the best he can (the auto-guess connections he does is pretty good), but the end result is typical ugly, hard to understand maya graphs.
If you HAVE to use Maya to do complex FX it's a must have, but my view is to treat it as a gateway drug to Houdini for Maya folk.
