hi.

is there a chance to convert polygon suface in nurbs surface? convert node works, but it is not making the model smooth.

this is my polygon suface. i want to make it smooth and use mountain sop after making it nurbs.

You either need more vertical divisions, or use a lower order on the convert node.

I had a sweet animated gif showing this, but I've hit the attachment limit for the forum. Oh well.

For a surface like yours, setting the Uorder = 2 and Vorder = 4 should make it curved.

Not sure what you're doing wrong, works fine for me. If you can add divisions prior to the convert sop, then leave it at the default of 4 and 4 for the u-order and v-order.

Having problems attaching files to to the forum, here's an example hip on my google drive:

thanks mestela. you are right. it works fine. the problem was that in viewport it shows like polygon but when you render it is nurbs.

Honestly if you just want a smooth surface, I'd stick with polygons and render as subdivision. You have much more control over your surface and dealing with nurbs can be a pain sometimes.
If you want a smooth viewport preview, just turn on viewport subdivisions on the object level.

Hi Mestela
I'm trying to convert a poly shape to a NURBS surface or curve. So that i'm able to project that poly shape onto another object. So i can trim it. The goal is make it look like the shape has been carved out of the other object. Other solutions than projecting the NURBS surface are welcome too!

Thanks in advance
