Hi

I am learning Houdini and come from a VRay background with 3ds max.

Usually I would render out Diffuse Filter, GI, Reflection, Refraction, Specular, Lighting, AO, Z Depth and Mattes for compositing. I have done alot of research into how this is achieved in Houdini 15 but have not figured it out.

Does anyone know of a good tutorial for 15 that would point me in the right direction ?

Thanks

Hi,
I've just started with Houdini a couple of days ago myself, but I found this one here:

It's for Houdini 13. I guess it might not be too different in H15 - haven't tried it myself yet, though…

Throw away comparing anything to vray > you cannot even assemble a beauty from vray layers thats correct.

Ive not rendered a separate AO pass since 2008. As with PBR rendering and the env light you get AO for free. So its pretty pointless rendering it out on its own.
