Hello everybody,

I am running the RH9 beta (8.0.355) on a suse 9.3 machine. The install went fine, and i successfully received the licences required. But when I reboot my machine and try to launch houdini again I get the error message “cannot connect to license server on linux” (linux is my hostname). It does not work if i shut down sesinetd and restart it either, then I get another error. I noticed that if I run sesictrl -n, the server code har changed, and does that on every reboot. Can this be the source of the error?

Thanks!

I think you have to add it to the Runlevel Editor in SuSE

Go to YaST -> System -> Runlevel Editor.

In SuSE 9.3 there should be an option to add a service. Pick sesinet.d script then add it to Run Level 5 and 3 I think.

(I can't remember exactly, I'll check when I get home.)

Time to plug the odwiki again. Perhaps you guys could add more comments to the PlatformIssues page?
