Is it possible to produce noise displacement across sharp edges like this image from Cinema4D using Houdini?

Here is the closest I have got in Houdini using vector displacement, but it isn't quite the same at the edges.

I don't have C4D so I don't know how it is actually produced. It looks like displacement along normal, but I haven't got that to work across sharp edges in Houdini.

Is the C4D screen rendertime displacement or real geometry?
If you need real geometry, the attached file is maybe helpy.

If you need it as a shader… I can not really help.

I need real geometry for export so that is exactly it, thank you.

Here is an image of what is produced for those who don't want to open the ‘.hip’.
