Howdy all,
I'm doing some research for methods best used for lighting in Houdini. I was curious if anyone has used the interactive renderer for Houdini. I'm mainly interested in using the Mantra interactive rendering, but I'm open to hear about the Renderman interactive renderer too. I'd love to know some of the pro's and cons to using the interactive renderer. Does it work well? Will it work well in a studio environment?
Thanks in advance!!
Ever used the Interactive Renderer?

We've used it a bit and its helped speed up the lighting/shading workflow.
As for pros and cons…
Pros:
Its fairly easy to setup
Does speed up rerenders a bit.
Supports sharing of IPR buffers
Cons:
Having a cache being marked invalid is still a bit of a mystery.
Have to be aware of which objects are “live” vs cached
No documentation of sharing of IPR buffers.
