Particles shrink as camera gets near them

Hey guys! I've been searching around for this info but can't find it anywhere so maybe one of you wise owls can help.

I'm trying to find a way to have particles shrink to nothing as the camera approaches them, has anyone got any idea on how I'd achieve this?

Here's a solution that uses the VEX distance function, a ramp to remap these values, and a sop solver to prevent the pscale from growing again after the camera passes.
