I was wondering if anyone else has taken a peek at this great resource and overview of Dynamics in Houdini yet… I just got my copy today and it s very good at explaing the concepts around the dynamics engine in Houdini.. Very comprehensive and easy to follow..
The examples i haven't gotten to dive in them just yet as i'm still looking at the videos but they show alot of different ways to set up a dynamics scene … He goes into some deep explaining in the begining so you can get the overall concept of how dynamics work…
As you go further into the the dvd he shows you how the colisions can be set up in multiple ways.. Sorry to sound like I'm just rambleing but i really liked this release of a dvd ..

@cylibral, I'm curious how long it took for your DVD to arrive? I ordered both Houdini DVDs from Gnomon a week ago but they haven't yet come We've got a new Houdini user here who is really eager to watch the intro DVD. Myself, I'm looking forward to the DOPs DVD.

I got it on Monday… Ups.. So it wasn;t that long at all.. I guess since it comes from Dallas all of their DVD:s it might tale a while… It took me less then a week to get the intro Dvd when it came out… I live in NYC i don't know if makes a difference.. But so far the dvd is really good.. I think it might be somewhat more for the beginer then the experienced user.. But you never know.. The example were pretty good… I just wish they would of shown the Building set up from the website and the help menu… I wanted to see that since i have a similar project to do wanted to learn that part… I hope you guys get it soon it;s worth it…

6 days from Dallas to Centeral Europe…

I got mine on Monday (yesterday) …so lest than a week to Toronto….

I've only watched the first half and I'm very pleased so far…but I'm disappointed that the ‘case studies’ are not included on the DVD…I'm sure there are good reasons for this but having real projects to examine is often more helpful than anything…but that's a small complaint…
