hi everyone,
sorry for my english.

i'm not programmer, only graphic designer who work on houdini.

i search a solution to transfert my animation from houdini to unreal.
the problem is there is a lot of polygons on my animation (10 millions) and my animation take 2000 frames.

I read houdini engine for unreal can't export animation, only frame 1 from houdini.
Someone know if it is always like this?

If houdini engine can't export animation, someone know a solution for exporting heavy animation from houdini to unreal?

thank you for rad.
Bests regards to all

You don't need Houdini engine for that. Try converting your Houdini animation into a deforming quad/tris mesh (no n-gons allowed) and write out a 2000 frame Alembic file. You can keep the file size low by deleting unneeded attributes and groups. I only keep @P, @v, and @uv. @N will be generated upon import. Drop that onto Unreal and render using their sequencer to render.

You don't need a tutorial (I'm sure there is, have you looked on youtube?). Just try exporting an animated mountain sphere first. At the end of the network, drop down an AlembicROP and go from there. The scale between Houdini and Unreal is 100x different, so before the Alembic ROP use a transform to scale up and down as needed.

Some of the prep-work in the Entagma video is worth reviewing.

That's why I suggested trying a simple animation like a sphere. I doubt if it's mac related.
