I decided to post this question here since I couldn't find any relevant information anywhere else. So talking about Mantra and GI or secondary light bounces. There is no option anywhere (directly) to disable this.

So the question is that in 'limits' section in Mantra output node - if I set diffuse/reflect/refract limits to 0 - is this same really same as telling mantra to disable any type of indirect bounces ? (except the first direct bounce of course)

yes, I think so, it might be possible to override the limits with a trace function and nolimit scope though.
