Hello everyone,

Does anyone have a way of dealing with stepping in volume? I don't see stepping in the particles themselves, so I'm not sure how or why this is happening when rasterizing volumes.... does anyone have suggestions?

What is your voxel size on the rasterize node?
Your wrangle sets pscale between 0.01 and 0.02.
If the voxel size on the rasterize node is about the same or larger, each particle splats into only one or two voxels and since voxels are arranged in a grid they snap to that grid and you get stepping.
BUT
even then, it might just mostly be a viewport issue. Try rendering it with karma or redshift or whatever your renderer of choice and see if you can replicate the stepping there.

The voxel size matches the size of the fluid solver at .02 Should the voxel size be smaller? When I render it, I still see the stepping happen. When I test, it almost seems I should make the pscale or particle scale smaller...it seems to smooth it out. I remember a while ago with houdini flips, the voxel size should be 2x bigger than the particle scale... now that I think about it

if source and collision geometry has enought substeps,
check your simulation substeps.
