I created a hires object with ZBrush and I want to import it to houdini. When I load it, it takes too much time to load/move/Process/Render. Then I want to create a lowpoly version of it. I use the PolyReduce tool to transform it and now y want to create a Normal, Bump or Displacement map (or all three) using the HiRes version and Aply it to the lowpoly version.

How could I do it?

Thanks.

Other Question: Working with this hires object, sometimes I try to make a heavy conversion (like using convert to convert object to a Mesh) and my computer became locked trying to make the operation. I waited half an hour and It didn't finish so I had to kill houdini without saving last changes. Is there a combination of keys to “cancel operation” and not having to kill houdini process?

Can't you save displacement maps out of Z-brush right-away? Then you could just model something simple in Houdini, use a displacement shader and let mantra do all the work…my 5 cents…
