Very nice.

Will you add the plant movement with l-systems or rigging after the fact?

Of course .. I will post the fact afterward…

and I have a question Mr.Jeff..

Is there a plan “ocean system(big surf, big wave..)” in houdini regularly?

or realflow plug-in related to 3dmax regularly?

or Point-Oven system(*.mdd) like Softimage regularly?

in next version or in recent update??

No big surf waves a la Surfs Up. H9.5 will see a couple new shelf tools directed towards this though. Will be announced soon.

I believe there was/is a realflow plug-in SOP for H7 if I remember correctly. You may want to search OdForce and this forum for posts.
Houdini can read in the point cloud generated from realflow as I have seen first hand a couple customers do that.

Fortunately Houdini can freely load in any sequence of geometry off of disk so a tool such as Point-Oven isn't that necessary when working inside Houdini.
You can import and export point clouds using the new(ish) FBX importer. H9.5 will have both in and out support for FBX and point clouds.
You will want to try export of point oven data using FBX out of SoftImage and in to Houdini.
Most recent builds of Houdini can actually reference the data from the fbx file directly without having to lock SOPs. Make sure you are using very recent builds of Houdini9.0 when using FBX.

There are two direct solutions available for dealing with point clouds and the .mdd file format. The first is written in python:

and the second recommended version by Mark Story here:

Mark is looking for testers.

and your link related to MDD is actually my favorite otl… ops:

I've known FBX in Houdini…

But . FBX format is not correct 100%(constraint node, skin…)

I think It is also max->maya FBX…

and I used to use “pointcache or mdd”

anyway , thank you your response…
