when I try to run houdini it just says connecting to localhost
but it never connects
it was running fine but now it will not connect to localhost
anybody knows why? or what should I do?

houdini 9.5 64bit
nvidia geforce 8600m
hp pavilion dv9580 notebook
windows vista ultimate 64bit

I am not sure why Houdini fails to connect to localhost.

But you may try turning on “standalone” option in the License Administrator > File > Change License Server…
