This is exactly what I've been trying to create with Houdini (see attachment)

I haven't seen awesome text breakages with Houdini yet & I'd like to use this technique in an upcoming project.

This is the hoaky result of about 10 minutes of shelf clicking and parameter finagling. Obviously you can make something much much better if you work at it more seriously.
